B-Flames on fire with ‘Certified Star’

Gerry Howard, better known as B-Flames, is the next hip-hop artist to rise up out of Pittsburgh. He became interested in hip-hop by listening to the music when he was younger. His mother and father were always big on music and his brother, who has been rapping for 11 years, persuaded him to join him. He grew up on the West Side of Pittsburgh.

B-FLAMES

His rap name, “B-Flames” comes from his being in the booth, always spitting (rapping) about something hot. He blazes the booth and comes out with hot songs, or as he says, “All the stuff I spit be flames, ya dig?”

“I’m in this for the long hall and people probably don’t know that I’ve been doing this for 11 years. I’m 22 years old, says B-Flame. “I plan on moving forward to better and big things by having my music hit different cities and get a national record deal. I plan to collaborate with more people in the city. I have already collaborated with some artists from Pittsburgh. As far as national artists are concerned, I would like to collaborate with The Dream, Ne-Yo, Gucci Mane, Cam’Ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Fabolous and more.”

B-Flames considers himself to be a full package artist, meaning he can swing mainstream, gangsta and conscious hip-hop. He does not talk about one subject and he tries to relate to everybody; he has music for the streets and the ladies.

He creates music that makes you think. He remains consistent and is not going to change for anyone. He does not think that he is better than anyone else. He does get to perform at many events and venues throughout the city and his music is heard on radio stations. And other local artists want to collaborate with him.

Through it all, he remains humble. He feels he has a lot to prove in the rap game. He released “Hottest Of The Block,” his debut album in 2005 and his followup is “Tha Lottery Pick.”

“I want everybody to know that B-Flames’ album “Certified Star” drops in mid-June. I have 18 bangers on the CD,” he says.

“You can stay updated by going to www.myspace.com/bflamezmuzik. For all my fans I thank you for supporting me.

“You can also request my new single ‘2 Clean’ featuring Kizzi on WAMO 106.7FM. It will be the first official single off ‘Certified Star.’ My other songs that have been on WAMO are ‘Get Bread,’ ‘Limelight’ and ‘Go Gurl’—those will also be on the CD,” says B-Flames switching from artist to promoter. “It’s my best to date. This CD will be the one that makes noise nationally and not just in Pittsburgh because I plan on getting my music in other cities and will go label shopping with this album,” says B-Flames.
